Featuring Dr. Mark Lewis, Executive Director Emerging Technologies Institute National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA)

For the first time since the Cold War, America faces the prospect of having adversaries with superior technology. Emerging technologies including Autonomy, AI, Biotechnology, Cyber, Directed Energy, Microelectronics, Quantum Science, Hypersonics, Space Technologies, and more, are critical to maintaining the United State’s competitive advantage against global competitors and national security threats. And the development of these technologies presents significant economic opportunities for industry innovators and academia to collaborate with key stakeholders in pursuit of keeping America safe.
This forum’s featured keynote speaker, Dr. Mark Lewis, executive director of NDIA’s Emerging Technologies Institute will examine these technologies and discuss why we as a country must encourage their development to maintain American prosperity and economic and military supremacy in the 21st century.
The Emerging Technologies Institute (ETI) was founded in 2021 to provide leadership, bolster public awareness and create independent, reliable research about the technologies critical to our nation’s economy and national defense. Staffed by researchers and subject matter experts and backed by a preeminent advisory board, ETI focuses on the modernization priorities that integrate cutting-edge technological advancements in the private sector with the DOD’s future warfighting needs. Outside of government, ETI helps industry leaders to develop technologies well-suited to the acquisition process and assists leading innovators to deliver new ideas to
key stakeholders.
In addition, a panel of West Virginia defense industry experts will discuss their companies’ cutting-edge technologies and key information on federal defense budget priorities and funding will be highlighted.
