Thu, Feb 24, 2022 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM EST

The focus of this AIM2Learn Webinar will be on current research and development being performed at the University of Pittsburgh in the area of advanced manufacturing. Research includes: 3D Printing, Advanced Materials Development, AI/Machine Learning, materials data science, Cybersecurity for IoT, and advanced magnetics for power and energy applications. We will also discuss avenues for companies and government agencies to collaborate with University researchers on proposals, co-ops, internships, senior design projects, and graduate recruitment.

About our speaker: : Liza Allison is the Program Administrator for the University of Pittsburgh Center for Advanced Manufacturing (UPCAM). With an education in Operations Management and work experience in the manufacturing sector, she is well suited to help bridge the gap between the fundamental research being performed at a University and the applied work that is of most value to industry. The goal of the UPCAM initiative is to represent the efforts of advanced manufacturing faculty from every department of the Swanson School of Engineering (SSoE), to help break down silos between departments and to increase exposure to industry and government agencies. UPCAM was designed to act as a single point of contact for all advanced manufacturing initiatives and focuses on finding ways to build external relationships. Through these relationships, we work towards building a culture of advanced manufacturing in the school with an emphasis on partnerships and collaboration.
